Club Jaguares de Chiapas play in the First Division of Mexico. Their home field is Estadio Vampampiacutector Manuel Reyna, in the city of Tuxtla Gutiampampeacuterrez, built in 1982 to hold 6,000 spectators, but enlarged in 2002 to a capacity of 25,000. The club was born in 2002, and played its first game against Tigres of UANL, losing 3 1, with Lucio Filomeno scoring the first goal in team history. Their star player is Salvador Cabaampampntildeas, who with many goals, has taken the Chiapanecos to new heights. Where before they only hoped to avoid descent, now they expect to win the liguilla and a ticket to the next Copa Libertadores. The surprise team in InterLiga, the Jaguares have proven to be a team that is here to stay.
