The Tigres of the University of Nuevo Leampampoacuten began play in the 195859 season tournament. Their first two seasons were harsh for the felines, as they were close to dropping to Third Division however, starting with their 196970 season, with the presence of Roberto Mampampeacutendez Campampaacuteceres, they reached their golden age, which brought them to the Maximum Circuit. The 7172 season, under the leadership of the Peruvian, Grimaldo Gampampoacutenzalez, Tigres qualified for their first Liguilla title. With only a year in the Maximum Circuit, Tigres obtained the Cup Championship of the 7576 season, giving the city of Monterrey the first great title in its history. During the 198182 season and once again led by Carlos Miloc, they defeated the Potros de Hierro of Atlante on penalties, taking the second League title in their history. Well into the nineties, Tigres won their second Cup Championship in 1996, defeating the Zorros of Atlas in the global 2 1.
